President Biden is scheduled to appear on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Wednesday for the first time since taking office, a media move to try and regain support as his plunging performance ratings.
Jimmy Kimmel announced on Twitter Sunday night, “Our very elected President @JoeBiden visits @JimmyKimmelLive Wednesday night. No malarkey.”

Biden had appeared on the late night show back in 2019 when he was trying to secure the Democratic nomination. The president appeared as a virtual guest on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in December 2021, speaking to a national rebound from pandemic lows.
This week’s late-night appearance will be filmed with a live studio audience at the El Capitan Entertainment Centre on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California.
The president’s television appearance comes as his approval rating plunges amidst national concerns, including record inflation, surging gas prices, and overspending on Russia’s war with Ukraine.
Last month, Biden’s approval rating reached its lowest point since he took office.
The poll, published by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research, shows that 39% of American adults approve of Biden’s performance as president.
